Love but wear out quickly

Super soft, wash well, nice pant for lounging or sport. Really love them, except the crotch wore out after just a few wears and washes. Hoped for more durability at this price point.

Wonderful. Size down.

I've had these for about a year. Fall through spring I wear them most mornings for a couple hours before getting dressed for real. I wear a lot of wool - I knit and just generally like wool clothing - and these keep me warmer than my other, heavier wool pants and I honestly don't know why, as they are so light.

I haven't had any problems with them pilling, which may be because I don't put them in the laundry but instead wash them every once in a while as I would other woolens - a soak with a no-rinse wool detergent. I use eucalan but I hear great things about soak. Drop the pants (and any other woolens that need it) in a bowl with warm (not hot, not cold - comfortable to the touch) water, leave it to soak until I remember it exists, drain (I generally turn the bowl upside down and pile the clothing on top of it and forget about it for another few hours), roll in a towel, lay flat to dry. Easy easy. In making "washable" wool, also known as superwash wool, the fibres are coated with a substance that keeps the tiny scales on the hairs from opening, which would let them catch on one another, causing pilling and felting. When that coating is repeatedly exposed to heavy use and high heat (as in a washer and dryer) it does break down. Washing your wollens sparingly and as gently as you can should help them last longer. (I say all of this not to lay blame anywhere but rather because most people don't know it and most manufacturers don't advertise it since it can make wool seem finicky.)

Anyway, the pants are just smashing. Deeply love the material. I'd buy tops in it but all of oiselle's long-sleeved tops have sleeves that are much, much, much, much too long for me - not everyone wants to keep their hands in their sleeves! And yes, I could roll them up but by the time you roll your shirt sleeves *and* your mid-layer sleeves *AND* your jacket sleeves you've got a thick layer of too-dang-much *stuff* to work around - so they're a non-starter. Bummer!

The comfiest pants!

I was gifted a pair of these pants about a year ago and have worn them most days since. They are incredibly comfortable and the fit is great. I like wearing them to sleep in or for lounging, but you could definitely wear them as a track pant over top of leggings or out if you were going for a very casual look.

I’ve seen a few reviews complaining about the quality/pilling, but this hasn’t been my experience at all. I hang-dry them, which may help. They are still in great condition even after all the use they have gotten over the last year. I came back here to order a new pair!
