Description
We know a new style is going to be a hit when the designer won't take off the prototype! The Katron Long Jacket is Designer Kami's go-to piece for outdoor action (like walks and bleacher spectating) as well as in (post run cooldown shivers or a cold office). She says, "Having that extra length really elevates the style and surprisingly adds just the amount of warmth needed for most daily activities." And if we didn't have you at length, this Katron style also has a hood for added protection from the elements.

Nearly Perfect

There's a lot I love about this jacket but a few things I would change that would bump it up to a 5 star. It's a great length for me (I'm 5'5" and oftentimes long jackets hit at a weird length), and I love the Polartec side panels and cuffs. The cuffs in particular were a nice surprise, as those aren't totally obvious in the photos, and add much needed hand warmth on the extra cold days. I got the blue jacket and also love the contrasting zipper, which, combined with the mixed materials, makes it a very modern jacket. It fits really well and does it best to not look shapeless. However, there are a few small things I wish they had thought to add/change. First, the zipper guard on the inside lining is super stiff and rough, almost like thin cardboard, and when you have the zipper all the way up, it rubs against my chin. Not a dealbreaker, but I would have expected better quality given the price. Then, if you're going to go through the trouble of adding in the Polartec cuffs, why not throw in some thumbholes? If there's ever a question for thumbholes, the answer is always an adamant YES. Especially since the jacket itself isn't particularly heavy, it would have been nice to be able to pull the cuffs over my hands when it's really cold. I also would have added in some side vents, maybe with snaps so you can open or close. Those would help with movement when it's too cold/windy to unzip the bottom. Finally, I wish the hood was just slightly bigger. If I have my hair up in a ponytail, it pushes against the hood and leaves part of my head uncovered. And since this is marketed as a post-run jacket, a pony would be sort of a given. All in all, a great jacket, but really glad I got it on super sale and didn't pay full price.

Favorite Oiselle Purchase

This is my favorite ever Oiselle purchase! This long jacket has me looking forward to winter! The length is generous, and hits just below my knees. The soft side paneling is extra cozy, and the stitched detailing makes this piece as flattering as it is functional! 10/10 recommend.

Been saving for months for this and it's SO worth it!

I own many jackets from Oiselle but as soon as this came into the store in the fall I knew I had to have my hands on it. Every time I came into the Flagship store I'd try it on (ink blue was calling my name). I saved up throughout the holiday season to finally get my jacket and have no regrets! I've been wearing it almost daily to and from work. It's perfect for those cooler PNW mornings. I don't think it would be the best jacket for a deep freeze like I grew up in the Midwest, but for those cooler 20-40 degree temperatures it's the perfect outer layer. Awesome product!
(I'm 5'6 and got a small - fits great!)

Soft and comfortable for mild cool weather

The long Katron is so soft and comfortable, it moves with you! I am so glad O put a hood on it, and the hood is very functional whether on it's own or over a beanie. At this price point I was expecting more warmth and insulation, as I definitely had to layer generously underneath for mid-40's temp. The sizing feels generous, I got my usual size M but it feels a size to big and bloomy. I was hesitant to size down because of the potential for tight arms. But, now I can keep those lofty layers underneath! It does shift a bit when walking, like it wants to scootch to the side (I was constantly adjusting it back) but it's not a deal breaker. This is not for a deep winter, but it would be great for mild winter, and fall and spring. I can not express enough how soft and easy this coat is to wear. I am giving it 4 stars because despite it being very comfortable, it did not fulfill the *winter* jacket need.
