Runner Approved Golden Globe party with Nuun-tini recipes
Runners have a lot of down time, recovering, so of course we're huge movie buffs. As you know, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler are hosting the Golden Globes on Sunday. Here's what we suggest, get the long run done early, watch the last few nominated movies, then invite your Sunday long run group back over for Golden Globes party. What to serve? Nuun cocktails of course! Here's a great list of Nuun cocktails from Nuun mixologists.
Winona Tank makes its debut in RealSimple
Our very own Jacquelyn made her modeling debut on RealSimple.com and the Winona Tank rules the deals page of the publication. We're so proud! The fabric of the Winona is ... there is literally no word. Basically it's the cashmere of the running world.
Lauren Fleshman and Carrie Tollefson talk baby bumps and public urination on C Tolle Run
I think that about sums it up. Watch on CTolleRun.com.
The best pump up mix in existence? You decide.
This #FastFriday we asked for your favorite pump up songs. And Mac made them into the ultimate mix to get you up and running: fast friday oiselle... we're not saying the title is great.
And the top story of the week Sarah Lesko (@drlesko) presents the Oiselle Superfan Agenda 2013:
To kick off 2013, Oiselle has been scheming on our superfan timeline: what races do we hope to attend or virtually crazy-cheer, and how many can we fit in? We thought we should share our “top picks” for 2013, in the hopes that you might be able to join us in our cowbell madness. So here goes:
2/16: The Millrose Games at the Armory, NYC (previously held in Madison Square Garden), arguably the most historic track and field event in the world. Raucous atmosphere and a blast to attend. This year will include pole vaulter @JennSuhr, LJ-er Brittney Reese (@DaLJBeast), Bernard Lagat (@Lagat1500) in the 2-mile (battling @Lawilalang and @CamLevins). The 600m will feature Duane Solomon (@DuaneBang800) and @NickSymmonds chasing a decades old American record. And recently announced--Oiselle’s own Kate Grace (@fastK8) will be running the mile! Tickets can be found here https://www.armorytrack.com/Millrose/Tickets; the Games will also be shown live on ESPN3 and delay-broadcasted on ESPN 8-10pm EST on Feb 17th.
4/15: Boston Marathon Field includes Meb Keflezghi (@runmeb), Abdi Abdirahman (@Abdi_runs), Ryan Hall (@ryanhall3), Jason Hartmann, @FernandoCabada, @ShalaneFlanagan, @KaraGoucher, @Steph_Rothstein, and Allisa Mckaig. Also we should have a strong Oiselle team presence: be on the lookout for a #oiselleteam meetup!
6/5-6/8: NCAA Track and Field Championships Eugene, OR. A great way to see up and comers and get an eye for future stars. Plus, any event in Track Town is awesome. If you want to make it a week, head into town 5/31 to catch the Prefontaine Classic and do some great training during the off days.
6/19-6/23: USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships Des Moines, IA. Qualifier meet for the world team, results determine European competition schedule for many athletes. Must attend! (But why in Des Moines??? There is not even an @Airbnb presence there—hello Holiday Inn). Team Oiselle will be there, cheering on our own and our favorite adoptees (we see you @hastyhastings and @Alysia800); there are sure to be some #oiselleteam shenanigans.
6/22: USA Half Marathon Championships in Duluth, Minnesota. Although we are totally chapped that USATF scheduled this during Outdoor Track Nationals (>350 miles away), this will be a great race. Divide and conquer! Deep prize money, and a strong field of Oiselle elites. So far Marci Gage and Alison DeLancey have guaranteed entries (sub 1:18) but we anticipate 4-6 additional Oiselle elites to be toeing the line. #oiselleteam meetup for sure: hello Midwest!
7/11-7/14/13: Masters Outdoor Track and Field Championships, Olathe, KS. More Midwest Mania. Although this may not meet everyone’s superfan criteria, we at Oiselle love the >40 set (wait, some of us are the >40 set)! And these ladies and gents fly! Sure to be some Oiselle masters fasties (and a new Masters clothing line???)
10/13/13: Chicago Marathon Registration opens 2/19/13 Always a strong field, and weather-dependent a fast course!
11/3/13: NYC Marathon After 2012 cancellation, 2013 looks to be a healing event. For those who were entered in 2012, these are your options: http://www.ingnycmarathon.org/resolution.htm NYC always features a strong field on an iconic course, thanks to @nyrrmaryruns.
12/14/13: USATF Club XC Nationals Bend, OR. What an amazing location for this event; Oiselle will be fielding several teams. And featuring a @laurenfleshman baby viewing party. And looking back on #lucky13! You don’t want to miss it.
